"Shield us and remove from us every enemy, plague, sword, famine and sorrow" - Maariv Service

Dear Chaverim ("Friends") of the Town and Village Synagogue Community Service:

We will be together again this year.

Rabbi Abby Sosland and Beth Mann will be leading our services from the Synagogue's Bierman Social Hall, in front of the Aron (Ark), as they have for many years. We cannot physically be in that room together, but we can keep and enjoy the holidays and create sacred spaces and sacred times wherever we are.

Our tentative schedule includes remote learning throughout the month of Elul with Rabbi Sosland, then beginning the holiday with candle lighting and Kiddush together, morning services on both days of Rosh HaShanah, a Kol Nidre evening service to begin Yom Kippur and services during the day of Yom Kippur, and our buoyant closing with the Ne'ilah service. All our services will be remote, unfortunately, based on what we now know about the disease. Services will be shorter, and we plan to share a digital Machzor with everyone who will be attending.

We need your help to make all of this happen. Help us sustain a service that you have found so precious for over two decades and that serves so many friends and neighbors who need our support.

Opt in, contribute financially, we need your gifts to make this a reality.

We will stay in touch and keep you up to date on our plans. Join us to bring a new year of hope and health and joy for us all.

With deep appreciation,

Nina Lehman, President
